What is Evony and why is everyone playing it?

After hearing so much about Evony and being told that everyone is playing Evony, checking the game out then became a number one priority. At first signing up and not understanding the game, was a little confusing, and most of the information in the forums was scattered, although there is a lot of good information in the forums. The city is filled up with objects that produce goods that can be sold for gold, while the city is used for building defense and the army, the army can be purchased with the goods from the city. The whole setting of Evony is based in the knights era, this combined with the multiple expansion option that can be done makes playing Evony a top game.

                Of course once the building of the base is done than the real fun begins, Evony allows the army’s to go out and attack other villages that give bonuses to the players, the even have Barbarian city’s that can be conquered by anyone. Evony does not stop there they offer alliances that can be joined that offer that extra support to new players by combining new players with skilled players. From playing Evony everyone is always looking to add players to their alliances so finding a group of people to help out is fairly easy.

                What also makes playing Evony very unique is the players, this game does not offer the violence that most games have or the bloody graphics that one might expect from such a popular game. Every war game has a presence of violence; however Evony does it very tastefully, the battles are simulated and the players only see the results, making playing Evony safe for any age group. Playing Evony also brings together a unique team play that anyone can benefit from many alliance become friends with other alliances adding to the level of protection that one team may have, although anyone can feel free to play as a single player, they may want to check the area before attacking someone in an alliance. Alliances can also be broken and war declared on an old friend, dividing the lines of friendship, while improving one’s rankings.

                In conclusion, I have been playing Evony for about 2 weeks the first day I noticed people offering to join an alliance all I had to do was let them know I was interested. I joined an alliance named Cannibal, although the name was not appealing the people in Cannibal have been fantastic at giving advice and helping me to build up a city. This game took me by surprise, you do not have to sit at the game for hours to play it continues to build and gain money even when you’re at work or sleeping. For a free online game I give this a rating of 9. The games only flaw is it allows you to spend money to get ahead of players that can’t afford to spend anything. For example some one can purchase a package that helps you to build faster, although they do run out and they either have to buy more or wait like everyone else.
